Here are some of the activities that we have planned for Catholic Education Week 2015:

Monday, May 4th
Outdoor Reading Day: There is nothing like kicking back on a warm spring day with a good book. We want our students to experience this great feeling, so our classes will be finding a comfortable spot out in our school yard to do some reading. Who knows, we may even start a new recess trend!
School Council Meeting: Every month a team of volunteer parents meets to organize activities for our school community. Drop in between 7 and 8:30 to find out more about how School Council supports our school.

Tuesday, May 5th
Talent Show: At 1 p.m. students will be gathering in the gym to share their talents with the school community. Families are welcome to attend the show as well.
Board-Wide Mass: At 7 p.m., staff from across the Ottawa Catholic School Board will be gathering at Notre Dame Cathedral for a special Catholic Education Week Mass with the Archbishop.

Wednesday, May 6th
Dance Showcase: Our 20 member dance team will be performing at the Ottawa Catholic School Board Dance Showcase taking place at Notre Dame High School.

Thursday, May 7th
Muffin Breakfast: Families are invited to join us in our gym from 8:00-8:45 a.m. for a quick bite to eat. We will have plenty of coffee and juice on hand, and we invite families to bring in nut-free muffins, fruits or other breakfast treats to share. Even if you can only stay for a few minutes, we hope you will join us. Students whose families aren`t able to join us for the breakfast will begin their day with recess as usual.
Open House: Curious about what learning in the 21st Century looks like? From 8:45 until 10:00 parents can visit their child’s classroom (or children’s classrooms) to watch students participate in their regular morning routines. Be forewarned, teachers might be asking parents to participate, too!
Welcome to Kindergarten: At 6 p.m., next year’s Junior Kindergarten students and their families are invited to join us for some great activities. If you know of someone with a Kindergarten-aged child who has not yet registered for school next year, please have them contact the school a.s.a.p.

Friday, May 8th
Choral Celebration: Our 40 member choir will be joining choirs from other schools for the Ottawa Catholic School Board Choral Celebration taking place at Notre Dame High School
1 Kilometre Walk:  May 8th is Walking Day in the City of Ottawa. Our school will be celebrating the day by walking 1 km by walking 3 times around a loop from the school, to the Public Library and back around the skating rink.
